Hotel Type

Boutqiue Hotel

Located on the smallest and most exclusive of the Aeolian Islands, this super-secret boutique hotel is located deep inside the village of Panarea within walking distance of the main harbor and shops. Cars are banned on the island of Panarea, the narrow lanes and corridors are only conducive to scooters and golf carts - albeit speedy ones. The hotel is well known with locals for its in-house Broccia Restaurant, occupying a grand terrace at the front of the hotel that's a great spot for watching the evening's pedestrian fashion parade. Formerly the islands main grocery store, the property grew to incorporate a bar, pastry shop and ultimately a full-service boutique hotel.

The main lobby features a quaint reception area decorated in teak handcrafts with brightly-colors fabrics and local artwork. Constructed between main lobby are and rear guest room annex, guests can stroll the property while enjoying wide terraces with awe-inspiring views of Stromboli. While there is no pool or spa facility, an 8-person Jacuzzi is located on the rooftop with spectacular views of the evening sunset.

The Room

Half the price of nearby Hotel Raya, this charming boutique hotel is about stylish value. The property features 13 guest rooms located at the front and back of the property, the best are on upper floors and include large terraces and head-on sea views. Rooms are individually decorated with varying styles of colonial, minimalist and Asian decor. Furnishings are typically frill-free, constructed of affordable teak woods meant to be far more charming than practical. Some rooms offer great four-poster beds and canopies that lend a romantic flair. Bathrooms are uninspiring with small showers and cramped sinks that would benefit from better lighting. Unlike the nearby Hotel Raya, the rooms do feature TVs, well chilled air-conditioning and child-friendly policy for families.
